DescriptionAs a Frontend Engineer at Wordly, you will build and improve user experiences that help customers effectively use Wordly’s real-time translation features across our applications.This is an individual contributor role focused on hands-on implementation. You will work from product requirements, UI designs, and established technical direction to build new features, improve existing applications, and contribute reusable UI components that support a consistent frontend experience across the platform.We are looking for someone who can work independently from clear requirements and contribute effectively within a fully remote team. Strong experience with either React or Angular frameworks is required, and exposure to the other is a plus. You should also be comfortable writing tests, integrating with backend APIs, and using AI-assisted development tools effectively and responsibly as part of day-to-day engineering work.Minimum Qualifications3+ years of hands-on experience building frontend applications from product requirementsStrong understanding of React and common React development patterns, or Angular, including common RxJS patterns; experience with both is a plusStrong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScriptExperience writing and maintaining frontend tests, including unit tests, with tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Jasmine, or similarExperience integrating frontend applications with backend APIsExperience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, or similar, and comfort using them effectively and responsiblyExperience working in modern software development workflows, including version control and code review practicesComfortable working with a fully remote teamSelf-motivated and able to implement features independently from clear requirementsDesired QualificationsExperience working with React-based frameworks such as Next.jsFamiliarity with accessibility best practicesFamiliarity with CI/CD environments and pipelinesExperience working with design systems, shared UI components, or reusable component librariesB.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent from an accredited institutionResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain frontend solutions from product requirements and UI designsImprove and support existing frontend applicationsBuild and maintain reusable UI components that can be shared across applicationsWork cross-functionally with Product, UI Design, and Backend Engineering to deliver frontend functionalityIntegrate frontend applications with backend APIsWrite and maintain unit tests and follow general frontend testing practicesParticipate in code reviews and contribute to clean, maintainable, and reusable codeDebug and resolve issues in existing frontend applicationsAbout WordlyLocated in Los Altos, California, Wordly is an exciting tech startup that is looking to grow its engineering and GTM teams!
