Responsibilities

Job title: Implementation and Onboarding Manager. Type: Part-time, 15-20 hours per week, starting as soon as you can and running through March 31 2027, with a path to full-time. Location: Remote, worldwide, with some overlap with US Eastern hours. Language: English at a conversational level is sufficient. Compensation: Unpaid for the first 3-6 months while we bring the product to market, transitioning to a paid contract once the company is generating revenue, with a path to a full-time salaried role as revenue supports it. We are stating that plainly rather than burying it. If you need income from day one, this is not the right time to join us. About the company: Melora Connect is membership management software for organizations of every size, from small local groups to large national and international bodies: associations, chambers of commerce, societies, federations, councils, nonprofits and professional membership organizations. The product is built and going to market now. Why this role exists: In this category, the deal is won at the demo and lost during the migration. A membership organization is handing us fifteen years of member records, dues history, committee structures and event data, and asking us not to break any of it. If the first ninety days go badly, no amount of good software saves the account. We have onboarding associates. What we do not have is someone who owns whether it goes well. What you will do: - Own implementation and onboarding end to end, from signed contract to a customer using the product without us in the room. - Build the migration playbook: data extraction from WildApricot, MemberClicks, GrowthZone, StarChapter, Glue Up and the inevitable spreadsheet, field mapping, validation, dry runs and a rollback plan. Nobody loses member data on your watch. - Design the standard onboarding path: platform configuration (membership tiers, dues and renewals, committees, chapters, events, the member directory and portal), training sessions, go-live and a 30-day adoption check. - Lead the onboarding associates. Set the process, review the work, and step in on the accounts that are going sideways. - Run the hard conversations. Volunteer boards, long-tenured staff and a system somebody built by hand in 2011 are all part of the job. - Define what "successfully onboarded" means and measure it: time to go-live, data accuracy, feature adoption, first-renewal-season survival. - Feed the product team what you learn. You will see every rough edge before anyone else does. - Support sales on migration questions during the deal, because "can you move our data" is the objection that decides most of them. Honest framing on stage: we are early. The first implementations will be you doing the work yourself and writing down how it went. By the time we have a dozen customers, the process should be something someone else can run. Who we are looking for: You have onboarded or implemented software for customers, ideally SaaS, and you have been responsible for whether it landed rather than just for your own tasks. You are comfortable in spreadsheets and messy data, and you can look at an export and tell what is wrong with it. You can teach a non-technical person something new without making them feel slow. You are organized enough to run several accounts at once and honest enough to raise a problem early. Association, chamber or nonprofit experience is a real advantage and not a requirement. Applicants worldwide welcome. What you get: ownership of the function that decides whether customers stay, direct work with the founder, a team to lead, first claim on the head of customer success seat as this scales, structured training through our Melora Institute curriculum, and a substantive written reference.
