Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure / AKS).
Remote, for engineers based in Eastern Europe.
Role Overview:
- We are looking for an engineer to run, secure, automate, and improve business-critical production environments on Microsoft Azure.
- The role is hands-on, so the main filter is real production ownership: systems you have built, kept running, and fixed yourself.
- Experience that comes mostly from design work, labs, or certifications will not cover it.
Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years in DevOps, cloud, or infrastructure engineering, with a substantial part of it spent hands-on in Azure production.
Production Responsibilities:
- Kept highly available, business-critical systems running.
- Set SLAs and KPIs for production services and put in place what it takes to meet them: monitoring, redundancy, on-call, runbooks, incident and change management.
- Handled incidents yourself, from investigation and root-cause analysis to follow-up work that stops the same issue from coming back.
- Dealt with performance problems and capacity management on live systems.
- Built a solid understanding of reliability, resiliency, security, backup, and disaster recovery.
Technical Skills:
- Azure networking: VNets, subnets, NSGs, Private Link and private endpoints, DNS, Application Gateway, Load Balancer, plus troubleshooting connectivity.
- Azure identity and security: Entra ID, managed identities, service principals, Azure RBAC, Key Vault for secrets and certificates.
- AKS and Kubernetes in production: deployments, cluster upgrades, scaling, networking and ingress, Istio, workload configuration, cluster security (RBAC, network policies, pod security), troubleshooting.
- Terraform with reusable modules and state management.
- Linux administration and troubleshooting on production servers.
- Automation in PowerShell, Bash and/or Python.
- Git and modern delivery workflows.
- Observability: logs, metrics, alerts, and dashboards.
Additional Qualifications:
- Everything above is required.
- A background in financial services is a plus.
