The role integrates scientific evaluation, partnership development, and strategic deal execution to accelerate pre-clinical and translational to early clinical programs. Role will focus on our core strategic alliance portfolio (i.e., LOTUS Neuro and CRL) (Approx. 50% scientific / 50% BD focus).Key Responsibilities:Scientific & Technical Leadership:Map and analyze potential of FUS modalities together with adjacent biotech innovations.Evaluate convergent CNS technologies: biologics, gene and cell therapies, biomarkers, diagnostics.Lead scientific due diligence in the context of licensing and/or partnershipsTranslate discoveries into preclinical and support early clinical development roadmaps. (Pre-Clinical/Phase 1-2)Engage KOLs, academic partners, and advisory boards to shape technology strategy as neededAdvise internal R&D, Clinical, and Regulatory teams on convergence and combination approaches.Business Development:Lead point of contact on strategic partnerships, co-development deals, licensing opportunities.Lead IP and freedom-to-operate assessment; support negotiation of term sheets and agreements.Manage deal pipeline, CRM tracking, and executive reporting.Develop, manage and present BD strategies and recommendations to leadership.Represent the company at key conferences and partnering meetings.Coordinate cross-functional deal diligence and integration.QualificationsEducation:PhD in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Molecular Biology, or related field (required)MBA or equivalent business training/experience (preferred); MD or MD/PhD also consideredExperience:7–10 years in biotech/pharma/medtech, with 3–5 years in translational R&D (neuro-oncology, CNS delivery, or molecular biotech)2–3 years in BD, licensing, or partnerships involving CNS assets or platform technologiesProven success in closing licensing or co-development dealsTechnical Expertise:Strong understanding of CNS drug delivery and BBB challengesKnowledge of biologics, gene/cell therapy, and molecular diagnosticsFamiliarity with FDA/EMA regulatory pathways for combination productsIP and deal-structuring acumen (milestones, royalties, equity)Core Competencies:Strategic and analytical thinking | Scientific-commercial fluency | Cross-functional leadership | Negotiation and communication excellence | Entrepreneurial mindsetReports to: Global Head, Medical InnovationLocation: Hybrid or remote; travel ~25%Compensation: Competitive with bonus and equity potential
