About the TeamOpenAI, in close collaboration with our capital partners, is building the world’s most advanced AI infrastructure ecosystem through the Stargate program—an initiative to develop massive next-generation datacenter campuses in partnership with industry leaders.The Physical Infrastructure team sits at the center of this effort, driving infrastructure strategy and execution from site development through full operational readiness. This team operates at the intersection of technical infrastructure, delivery, operations, and commercial partnerships, working across internal teams and external partners to enable large-scale AI compute deployments.About the RoleWe are seeking an Infrastructure Partnership Delivery Lead – Stargate to own partnership and delivery from construction through compute readiness across one of our most critical infrastructure relationships.This role serves as the primary delivery owner and strategic operational interface for key Stargate programs, ensuring successful execution across construction, datacenter operations, hardware deployment, and partner ecosystems. You will operate across technical infrastructure, delivery execution, and partnership management to ensure infrastructure programs move quickly, efficiently, and reliably from buildout through operational readiness.This is a people management role requiring strong physical infrastructure experience, delivery leadership through turn-up, and the ability to navigate complex multi-partner environments with urgency and clarity.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn operational delivery for major Stargate infrastructure programs across partner-operated datacenter campusesServe as OpenAI’s primary delivery interface with strategic infrastructure partnersCoordinate execution across construction, facilities, hardware deployment, and infrastructure operations teamsDrive operational readiness for large-scale AI compute infrastructureManage day-to-day collaboration with partner operations, construction, and delivery teamsEnsure alignment between partner execution and OpenAI infrastructure prioritiesIdentify and remove blockers impacting datacenter deployment and operational readinessDrive resolution of complex operational issues across multiple organizationsEstablish operational rhythms, reporting, and escalation paths for major delivery programsWork closely with internal teams including infrastructure engineering, datacenter operations, hardware deployment, networking, and supply chainAlign technical execution with commercial and operational commitmentsEnsure infrastructure programs meet schedule, reliability, and scale targetsBalance tactical operational execution with long-term infrastructure strategyDevelop scalable processes for managing large infrastructure partnershipsContribute to operational models that support OpenAI’s expanding AI infrastructure footprintQualifications12+ years of experience in infrastructure delivery, datacenter operations, or large-scale technical program executionExperience managing complex partner relationships in infrastructure, cloud, or hyperscale environmentsStrong understanding of physical infrastructure operations (datacenters, facilities, construction, or network/hardware deployment)Experience coordinating cross-functional programs across engineering, operations, and external partnersAbility to navigate ambiguity and drive outcomes across distributed teamsPreferred SkillsExperience with hyperscale datacenter development or operationsExperience managing infrastructure delivery with major cloud or infrastructure providersBackground in construction, datacenter campus buildouts, or infrastructure deployment programsStrong operational leadership in large-scale mission-critical environmentsTrack record of leading complex infrastructure initiatives with significant external partnersAbout OpenAIOpenAI is an AI research and deployment company dedicated to ensuring that general-purpose artificial intelligence benefits all of humanity. If the role is non-exempt, overtime pay will be provided consistent with applicable laws.
