FinStrat Management (“FSM”) is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a client-facing Senior Accounting Manager. This is a full-time role, managing accounting operations and financial reporting for a number of FSM clients. This is a great opportunity to build a team, implement best practices, and help scale both the company and its clients.ResponsibilitiesLeadership of FSM staff accountants; planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions for clientsTake ownership of the monthly financial close, reconciliation of accounts and G/L analysis for clients (key accounts such as revenue, unearned revenue, and accrued expenses)Prepare month-end reporting package with financial statements and variance analysis for clientsReview and ensure journal entries are posted accuratelyReview and ensure client GL accounts are accurately reconciledManage clients’ back office finance functions (e.g., A/R, A/P, payroll, etc.)Assess clients’ current account operations, make recommendations for improvement and implementing new systems and processesEnsure deliverables meet the firm’s quality standardsIdentify and communicate engagement matters to clients, managers and partnersProvide five-star client serviceJob RequirementsProfessional backgroundStrong understanding of financial statement preparation and account reconciliationsComprehensive knowledge of cash flow management, budgeting and forecastingKnowledgeable in all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Revenue Recognition (i.e. ASC 606)Outstanding technology and systems skillsExpert-level proficiency with Microsoft ExcelStrong analytical skillsHiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staffSoft skillsAbility to handle multiple engagements simultaneouslyCommitment and ability to meet critical business deadlinesStrong communication and ability to interact with internal and external partnersSelf-starter with strong organizational skillsExceptional attention to detailExcellent research and problem-solving skillsSomeone who is always looking to learn and improve; solicits/uses constructive feedbackComfortable working remotely in a dynamic environmentEducationA bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is requiredCPA preferred but is not required (the company will reimburse exam costs following successful completion)Benefits and PerksCompensation commensurate with experienceFlexible work scheduleUnlimited vacationMedical, dental, and vision insuranceOngoing education and trainingBonuses
