Requirements and responsibilities


We are seeking a senior algorithm engineer specializing in error correction codes (ECC) for the optical communication market. The position is on-site in Austin, TX, five days a week. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of ECC algorithm development and corporate/industry experience. Experience with optical communication systems, coding schemes, and OFEC is required. Responsibilities: * Design and simulate ECC architectures, define key capabilities and performance requirements, and drive specifications for digital and firmware designers. * Develop and simulate ECC algorithms and integrate them with the MODEM simulation. * Collaborate with designers to ensure circuit architecture can be efficiently implemented. * Participate in cross-functional teams with digital and firmware designers for bring-up, validation, and optimization activities. * Conduct hands-on lab work for algorithm debugging and tuning. Requirements: * Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in ECC algorithms development. * Fixed point design and programming in MATLAB and C. * Strong understanding of system and hardware implementation restrictions (from MATLAB to RTL). * Experience with optical communication systems. Preferred Skills: * Experience with optical communication systems.
