The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for the day-to-day transactional activity of the company. This role will support month-end close, analysis and reporting to ensure enterprise financial organizational success and is essential in the preparation and analysis of journal entries and financial activity; preparation of monthly general ledger reconciliations; entry and reconciliation of revenue, accounts receivable, and cash receipts; and continuous and proactive improvement of processes and controls. The Senior Accountant is able to manage and provide detailed analysis as the subject matter expert for their area of accounting responsibility, reports to the Controller or Assistant Controller and may manage one or more Staff Accountants.ResponsibilitiesWorking knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Support the Accounting team with the day-to-day operations by interfacing with individuals within and outside of the organization to ensure proper treatment of accounting transactionsPrepare bank transactions and journal entries and prepare all account reconciliations and analyses as assignedInvestigate errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reportsTake full responsibility for areas of accounting responsibility including detailed analysis as the subject matter expert with possible oversight of one or more staff accountantsParticipate in improving internal controls, policies, procedures, and documentationSupport periodic and annual audits and tax filings and paymentsWork effectively under tight deadlines in a team environment Ad-hoc projects as neededQualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business required; CPA preferred5+ years’ experience in accountingStrong practical working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is requiredProficiency with Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) is requiredAdvanced knowledge of MS Excel essentialExperience with insurance billing, services business, project-based accounting systems, time and materials contracts, and/or labor-based invoicing a plusAnalytic, detail-oriented, and inquisitiveDemonstrated ability to meet monthly closing and project deadlinesExcellent oral and written communication skillsSelf-starter with a strong sense of urgency and accountabilityDesire to take on increasing responsibilityLEARN Behavioral offers a competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits plans, including 401(k), personal time off, and paid holidays.
