Role: Data Architect (Cloud)
Location: Remote (Only Candidates from Mexico/Brazil)
Experience: 9+ years in Data Engineering / BI / Analytics, including 8+ years in Data Architecture
Key Responsibilities
Lead the creation and evolution of strategic enterprise data architecture.
Define standards and guidelines for data flows, aggregation, migration, curation, modeling, consumption, and placement.
Design enterprise-scale Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and end-to-end data pipeline solutions.
Partner with business stakeholders and Agile teams to gather and translate requirements into technical solutions.
Write technical requirements for ETL and BI developers.
Design and review enterprise data models supporting reporting, analytics, and business decision-making.
Provide end-to-end data pipeline architecture, including security reviews, deployment architecture, and data quality.
Design self-service reporting and Data Lake solutions for internal projects and resources.
Automate management and executive reporting views.
Provide architecture guidance to projects and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
Evaluate and prioritize data initiatives using cost/benefit analysis and business impact.
Required Skills
10+ years of Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Analytics, or related experience.
8+ years designing architecture for commercial-scale data pipelines.
Strong experience with AWS or another major cloud platform.
Experience designing scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines.
Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, ETL/ELT, Data Modeling, Data Quality, and Distributed Computing.
Experience with platforms such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, and SQL Server.
BI experience with Power BI, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, and/or Looker.
Big Data experience with technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, HBase, and Elasticsearch/Solr.
Knowledge of SQL and Python.
Database exposure including PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis, Oracle, MySQL, Teradata, Couchbase, AWS Aurora, and AWS RDS.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder-management, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and ambiguous environment.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or another related quantitative field. An advanced Computer Science degree is a plus.
