This role is responsible for aligning people strategies with clinical and business objectives in a fast-paced, multi-state, highly regulated environment.This is a hands-on, high-impact role that blends employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and compliance. The HRBP will work closely with Clinical Managers, Directors, and cross-functional partners to support a distributed workforce of clinical and non-clinical care teams, including field-based staff serving high-acuity populations.This is a remote position with occasional travel required for training, meetings, and other business needs. At this time we are only considering applicants in the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington, with a preference for applicants based in Mountain Time or Central Time.What you’ll doStrategic Partnership & Workforce PlanningPartner with Clinical teams to align people strategies with operational goals, growth targets, and patient outcomesProvide guidance on organizational design, team structure, and span of control to support scalability and quality of careAnalyze workforce data (turnover, engagement, caseload distribution, productivity) to identify trends and recommend actionable solutionsSupport workforce planning efforts including headcount forecasting, role design, and succession planningEmployee Relations & Performance ManagementServe as the primary HR advisor to clinical leaders on employee relations matters, including performance concerns, investigations, and corrective actionsCoach managers on delivering effective feedback, navigating complex employee situations, and driving accountabilityLead and support performance management processes, including PIPs, terminations, and development planningEnsure consistent and compliant application of policies across multiple states, with a strong focus on complex employment lawsClinical Workforce SupportDevelop deep understanding of clinical roles (e.g., Clinical Managers, RNs, LVNs, behavioral health providers) and associated challengesPartner with leaders to address burnout, caseload balance, and field-based workforce challengesSupport initiatives to improve retention and engagement for employees working with high-acuity and vulnerable populationsProvide guidance on clinical-specific considerations including licensure, scope of practice, and patient-facing risk factorsCompliance & Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour, leave laws, and healthcare-specific regulationsPartner with HR Compliance to manage investigations, documentation, and risk mitigation strategiesSupport audits related to HR processes, documentation, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA-adjacent workforce considerations)Your experience and qualifications5+ years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in an HR Business Partner or similar strategic roleExperience supporting clinical, healthcare, or field-based workforces (home health, behavioral health, or similar preferred)Strong employee relations experience, including investigations and performance management in multi-state environmentsDemonstrated experience supporting leaders in fast-paced, high-growth organizationsWorking knowledge of California employment law strongly preferredExperience supporting remote and/or hybrid distributed teamsAbility to navigate ambiguity and balance strategic thinking with hands-on executionStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret workforce data and provide actionable insightsExcellent interpersonal, coaching, and communication skillsAdditional InformationThe hiring process for this role may consist of applying, followed by a phone screen, online assessment(s), interview(s), an offer, and background/reference checks.Background Screening: A background check, which may include a drug test or other health screenings depending on the role, will be required prior to employment.Job Description Scope: This job description is not exhaustive and may include additional activities, duties, and responsibilities not listed herein.Vaccination Requirement: Employees in patient, client, or customer-facing roles must be vaccinated against influenza.
