# Quality Assurance Engineer Paying.co (Mojave Payment Technologies LLC) ## About the Role Paying.co is a payment engineering firm specializing in EMV Level 3 certification, custom Android payment applications, SoftPOS/MPoC, unattended payment systems, and PCI compliance. We're looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to own testing across our mobile and desktop application portfolio, ensuring every release meets the reliability and precision standards our clients (ISOs, ISVs, processors, and acquirers) expect. This is a highly detail-oriented role, well suited to someone with a couple years of QA experience under their belt who's ready to grow into payment-specific testing. Payment software has zero tolerance for edge-case bugs, so we need someone who treats every screen, transaction flow, and device interaction as something to be verified, not assumed. ## What You'll Do ✓ Design, write, and execute test plans and test cases for mobile (Android/iOS) and desktop applications ✓ Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing across our product suite (VeloIQ, flaw.co, Ask, and client-facing payment applications) ✓ Test payment flows end-to-end, including EMV transaction scenarios, SoftPOS/MPoC interactions, and unattended kiosk workflows ✓ Identify, document, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps, severity ratings, and supporting evidence (screenshots, logs, screen recordings) ✓ Collaborate with developers to verify fixes and prevent regressions before release ✓ Validate UI/UX consistency against design specs, including Material Design standards ✓ Test across multiple devices, OS versions, and screen sizes to catch device-specific issues ✓ Perform basic API and backend validation to confirm data integrity between frontend and backend systems ✓ Support PCI compliance and certification testing cycles where applicable ✓ Maintain and improve QA documentation, checklists, and testing workflows ✓ Flag usability issues and edge cases that automated testing might miss ## What We're Looking For ✓ Some hands-on experience testing mobile applications (Android and/or iOS) ✓ Some hands-on experience testing desktop applications ✓ Sharp attention to detail — able to spot inconsistencies others miss ✓ Clear written communication skills for reproducible bug reports ✓ Comfortable picking up new bug tracking and test management tools ✓ Comfortable working directly with engineering teams in a fast-moving environment ✓ Basic understanding of software QA methodologies (manual testing focus, automation a plus) ## Nice to Have → Experience testing payment applications, POS systems, or EMV transaction flows → Familiarity with PCI compliance requirements → Basic scripting or automated testing framework experience (Appium, Selenium, etc.) → Experience with API testing tools (Postman, Insomnia) → Bilingual (English/Spanish)
