This role is critical to ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performance network connectivity across our AWS, GCP, and hybrid environments while maintaining strict compliance with federal requirements including CMMC, FedRAMP, and other standards. This is also a customer facing role. Key ResponsibilitiesImplement and maintain network solutions across AWS and GCP cloud environmentsConfigure and manage routing protocols including BGP and OSPF for complex network architecturesDeploy and maintain AWS networking components including Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, VPC peering, and PrivateLinkConfigure and support GCP networking infrastructure including Cloud Interconnect, VPC peering, and shared VPC architecturesManage Equinix interconnection solutions for secure, low-latency cloud connectivityMaintain DNS architecture including Route53, Cloud DNS, and hybrid DNS configurationsImplement network security controls including segmentation, access controls, and firewall policiesMonitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure high uptime for mission-critical systemsDocument network topology, configurations, and standard operating proceduresParticipate in capacity planning and recommend infrastructure improvementsSupport compliance efforts with federal networking standards and security auditsContribute to network automation initiatives using scripting and infrastructure-as-code toolsRespond to network incidents and conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysisRequired Qualifications4-6 years of hands-on experience in network engineering or administrationDesign and maintain compliant network architectures that support UberEther and customers in achieving and maintaining FedRAMP and DoW ATOsImplement network boundary protections, segmentation, and security controls that align with NIST 800-53, CMMC, and other federal control frameworksDeploy network monitoring and logging solutions that generate evidence for continuous monitoring and compliance reportingConfigure network infrastructure to support continuous security assessment requirements for customer authorization packagesBuild reference architectures and network patterns that accelerate customer ATO timelines and reduce authorization risksDesign secure multi-tenant network environments where customers can build and operate their FedRAMP and DoD authorized systemsDeploy and maintain network infrastructure across AWS GovCloud and commercial cloud environments including Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, VPC architectures, and PrivateLinkConfigure and manage routing protocols including BGP and OSPF for complex network architecturesArchitect and maintain complex DNS infrastructure across multi-cloud and hybrid environments including Route53, Cloud DNS, and on-premises DNS systemsImplement and manage DNSSEC for authoritative zones to meet federal authentication and data integrity requirementsDesign DNS architectures supporting multi-tenant environments with proper isolation, security controls, and high availabilityImplement network controls and configurations that map to specific NIST 800-53 control families (SC, AC, etc.)Maintain network infrastructure supporting compliance automation tools and security control validationImplement network observability solutions that feed compliance dashboards and audit reporting systemsCreate network architecture documentation and diagrams that support customer System Security Plans (SSPs) and ATO packagesPartner with compliance engineers and assessors to validate network controls meet authorization requirementsRespond to network-related findings from security assessments and implement remediation plansDocument network topology, configurations, and standard operating procedures aligned with federal compliance documentation standardsSupport disaster recovery and business continuity network requirements for mission-critical systemsContribute to network automation initiatives using infrastructure-as-code tools and scriptingPreferred QualificationsActive DoW Secret clearance or higher (or ability to obtain)Certifications: CCNP, AWS Advanced Networking, Google Cloud Professional Network Engineer, or working toward these certificationsExperience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) conceptsBackground supporting high-availability production environmentsKnowledge of multi-cloud networking strategiesLocationThis role is offered as a hybrid or remote position based out of our Sterling, VA office.Please note: We are only able to consider candidates currently residing in DC, FL, IL, MD, MI, NC, NJ, OH, OR, PA, TX, VA, or WA at this time.BenefitsWe understand the value of such people, reward them accordingly, and provide best-in-class benefits to support them and their family’s well-being.
