We value initiative, curiosity, accountability, and a willingness to learn just as much as previous experience.About the RoleAs a Staff Accountant / Accounting & Finance Specialist, you'll work directly with the Corporate Controller and be an integral part of a collaborative finance team. You'll support the day-to-day accounting operations that keep our business running efficiently while gaining exposure to a variety of accounting and finance functions.This is a hands-on accounting role with exposure to everything from daily accounting operations and month-end close to subcontract administration, compliance, and process improvement. It provides an opportunity to broaden your accounting experience, contribute across multiple areas of finance, and continue to develop professionally.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Support daily accounting operations and maintain accurate financial recordsProcess vendor invoices, support accounts payable activities, and help ensure timely and accurate vendor paymentsRecord daily banking transactions and assist with cash management activitiesSet up and maintain employee and subcontractor records within our accounting and timekeeping systemsPrepare, issue, and maintain subcontract purchase orders and related project tracking documentationMaintain organized accounting records and supporting documentationAssist with subcontractor accounting administration and compliance documentationSupport month-end close activities, 1099 preparation, reconciliations, and other accounting projectsPerform other accounting and finance duties as assignedWhat We're Looking ForRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting preferred; Associate degree in Accounting with relevant experience will also be consideredStrong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detailStrong Microsoft Excel skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesAbility to work independently in a fully remote environment while remaining engaged and collaborative with the teamMust be available during Eastern Time business hoursPreferred QualificationsGovCon experience is a plus, but not requiredExperience with Unanet is a plus, but not requiredBenefits401(k) with matching and 100% VestedHealth InsuranceDental insuranceVision InsuranceHealth savings accountLife insuranceShort Term DisabilityLong Term DisabilityAD&DPaid time offProfessional development assistanceTrainingTuition reimbursementFlexible scheduleFlexible spending accountReferral programPaid Legal Planand more....Ignite IT is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
