Position Summary
The Behavioral Intervention Specialist (BIS) plays a key role in assessing, designing, and implementing behavioral intervention plans for clients with emotional, behavioral, or developmental challenges. The BIS will collaborate with therapists, educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote positive behavior change, enhance coping strategies, and foster skill development in clients across various settings.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct behavioral assessments, including functional behavior assessments (FBA) and skill-based evaluations.
* Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
* Provide direct behavioral support and coaching to clients in clinical, school, community, or home environments.
* Collect, analyze, and report behavioral data to track progress and inform treatment modifications.
* Collaborate with therapists, educators, and families to ensure consistency and effectiveness of interventions.
* Train and support caregivers, teachers, and staff on behavioral management strategies and best practices.
* Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with agency, state, and ethical guidelines.
* Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Social Work, or related field (Master’s preferred).
* Minimum of [1–3] years of experience providing behavioral interventions to children, adolescents, or adults.
* Experience working in clinical, educational, or community-based settings preferred.
Certifications (preferred but not required):
* BCaBA, BCBA, or other relevant behavioral certification.
* CPI, PMT, or similar crisis intervention certification.

* Strong understanding of behavioral principles and data-driven intervention design.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
* Empathetic, patient, and able to build rapport with diverse clients and families.
