About You
You are a senior accounting leader who enforces rigorous internal controls, drives timely closures, and keeps job-cost data clean and decision-ready. You are comfortable with advanced accounting technology, leading AP/AR at scale, and experienced in construction or manufacturing environments where accuracy and speed are critical.
Role Overview
The Controller provides day-to-day financial control for the company’s residential construction projects. You will oversee and perform high-level budget reconciliations, lead and supervise all AP/AR activities, and ensure the accounting system, cost codes, and project records align with the company’s standardized coding and document practices. You will partner closely with executive leadership and project operations to maintain payment schedules and cost integrity through accurate job costing and cash management in an automated digital environment.

* Publish accurate, consistent financial statements and dashboards for leadership; ensure data ties to project reality and approved changes.
Schedule
* Drive the monthly and quarterly close calendar; meet deadlines for financials, AP runs, AR billing, and compliance filings.
* Manage cash-flow forecasting and payment calendars; surface early warnings on budget and schedule risks and propose recovery actions.
* Maintain a predictable cadence of reporting to executive leadership and project teams.
Team Coordination & Collaboration
* Manage and develop subordinate accounting staff (e.g., Accountant, Accounting Assistant); assign workload, set SLAs, and coach performance.
* Partner with project operations for timely cost updates and billing; coordinate with external GC/client contacts on invoice approvals and collections as needed.
* Liaise with external CPA/auditors and banks; prepare supporting schedules and respond to requests.
