This role performs all duties of Payments & Payment Resolution staff while also handling administrative and supervisory responsibilities, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payment resolution support. The Lead provides day-to-day guidance, trains new hires, and independently executes complex payment resolution assignments requiring sound judgment.Preference will be given to candidates who live within 50 miles of Austin, Texas or Waco, Texas. Onsite travel is required if residing outside of a commutable distance of those locations.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform all functions of Payments & Payment Resolution staff including payment review, discrepancy research, resolution processing, documentation, and stakeholder communicationServe as the Lead Contractor representative for payment resolution operationsExecute Contractor administrative functions, including team timekeeping oversight, leave review and approval, and basic workload coordinationIndependently complete assignments involving numerous steps that vary in nature and sequence, using strong subject matter expertise and judgmentApply basic accounting principles to analyze payment issues, verify accuracy, and support resolution decisionsSupport team leadership activities in a supervisory or Team Lead capacity, including monitoring task completion and qualityTrain and onboard new contract hires, including preparing training materials, running training sessions, and validating readinessEscalate complex issues, trends, or systemic payment problems to the Program Manager and Government stakeholders as appropriateContribute to continuous improvement of payment resolution procedures, templates, and job aidsPerform additional duties as neededNecessary Skills and KnowledgeStrong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and ability to meet deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skillsMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent certification (e.g., GED)At least 3 years of experience in payment resolution, accounting support, financial operations, or a closely related fieldAbility to perform basic accounting functions (e.g., reconciliation support, transaction validation, error identification)Prior supervisory, team lead, or training roleAbility to pass and maintain eligibility to pass a Tier II Public Trust investigationPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting federal or state payment programsFamiliarity with payment processing systems, case management platforms, or financial workflow toolsExperience creating training/job aids for operational teamsBenefits401(k) with immediate vestingPaid Federal HolidaysTuition ReimbursementMedical Insurance, including Vision and Dental InsuranceEmployer-Paid Short-Term and Long-Term DisabilityEmployer Paid Life InsuranceSupplemental Life InsuranceFSA/HSA ProgramsCommuter Benefits ProgramAdoption Assistance ProgramEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Caregiver Support ProgramHealth Advocacy ProgramFinancial Wellbeing Support
