Job DescriptionPower TakeOff is seeking an Energy Advisor I to recruit and engage business, institutional, and commercial customers where energy savings opportunities have been identified through email and phone calls. This is a sales position that includes cold calling, customer meeting facilitation and enthusiasm for building relationships that drive energy savings.About Power TakeOff, Inc.Power TakeOff is a leading provider of software and implementation solutions in the utility industry, specializing in energy efficiency and demand side management DSM. We deliver cost-effective solutions for over 25 utilities across North America.Position SummaryEnergy Advisors are vital to the success of the Virtual Commissioning VCx Program, designed and implemented by Power TakeOff. Energy Advisors provide recommendations and remote support for participants to implement energy saving actions. After the participant has implemented the recommended changes, Energy Advisors monitor their smart meter data and work with our internal Measurement and Verification M&V team to confirm the energy savings.Key ResponsibilitiesTraining Program Participation and Knowledge RetentionParticipates in in-depth training on outreach competencies and energy efficiency basicsLearns to interpret reports and data in order to use data to drive decisionsUnderstands QC standards and is responsible for basic QC on their own handoffsFollows established playbooks and seeks help for issues outside of their experienceCompletes accurate documentation and follows program processes consistentlyBuilds proficiency in handoffs, reporting, and pipeline hygieneSales & Client Relationship ManagementDevelops steady outreach activity and meeting volume to establish baseline performanceBuilds foundational outreach and client management skills to manage a defined portfolio of clients using a pre-defined outreach planDemonstrates strong meeting facilitation skillsDevelops consistency in follow-ups and account organizationBuilds confidence in explaining program basics and answering questionsTeam EngagementParticipates in team discussions and helps build a positive team environmentDemonstrates reliability and accountability for their work, proactively asking for helpParticipates actively in pod meetings and discussionsDemonstrates persistence and resiliency in the face of challengesAdapts to change professionally and effectivelyKey Qualifications1+ year of professional experience, preferably in sales or business developmentComfortable engaging and talking with prospective clients via cold calls, emails and meetingsAbility to use/learn customer relationship management CRM systems e.g. Salesforce, Outreach.io and other software tools to effectively organize and manage a customer engagement pipeline and support tracking and reporting to maintain organized recordsInterest in working with prospective businesses to collaboratively problem solve and implement energy saving actionsInterest in analysis and data interpretation to identify and solve problemsKnowledge of and/or interest in energy efficiency concepts and applicationAbility to work in a remote team environmentWillingness to receive and provide feedback to achieve shared goalsConsistently positive and professional communications, even under pressureSelf-motivated with a strong work ethicExceptional oral and written communication skillsBilingual abilities are a plusLocation and TravelPower TakeOff is a 100% virtual company with no physical office location. However, many employees are based in two hubs in the areas around Denver, CO and Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. Residence in one of these two hubs is desired but not required, and relocation assistance will not be provided for the position. This position is eligible for employment in the United States.Travel is not expected for this position. Power TakeOff will cover the associated accommodation and travel expenses for any company travel.Compensation and BenefitsThe total expected salary compensation for employees residing in the U.S. is $52,500 USD per year.
