Your RoleWe are seeking a high-performing Director, Business Development, Eastern U.S., to join our growing commercial team, focused on building and expanding strategic relationships in the Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) space. The ideal candidate is a proven hunter who thrives on identifying and developing new business, understands the complex needs of biopharma clients, and can confidently represent technical capabilities across multiple advanced therapy modalities.As part of a cutting-edge CDMO organization, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding our footprint with biotech and pharma partners across the U.S.Key ResponsibilitiesProspect, identify, and close new business opportunities within the CGT ecosystem, including biotech, pharma, and emerging therapeutics companiesGenerate new business by actively engaging with potential clients, qualifying them, and ultimately converting them into paying clientsDevelop and manage a territory plan focused on early stage to commercial partnershipsEffectively communicate technical capabilities in viral vector manufacturing, mRNA production, and cell & gene therapy platforms, with support from technical subject matter expertsBuild strong, trust-based relationships with decision-makers across R&D, CMC, AP/PD, manufacturing and senior leadership teamsDrive the full sales cycle from lead generation through proposal development, negotiation, and closeMaintain accurate pipeline management and forecasting using CRM toolsCollaborate cross-functionally with marketing, technical teams, and program management to support client onboarding and long-term successConsistently meet or exceed quarterly and annual forecast quotasQualifications5+ years of successful B2B sales experience, with a minimum of 2 years selling into the CGT/CDMO spaceStrong understanding of viral vectors, mRNA, and/or cell & gene therapy platforms — deeper technical knowledge in at least one modality requiredBachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline required; Master’s or PhD preferredPrior hands-on lab experience is highly valued and will support credibility with scientific buyersProven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding quotaDemonstrated ability to build and grow new accounts with minimal oversightHighly self-motivated, strategic thinker, and comfortable navigating technical, multi-stakeholder sales cyclesExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to both scientific and business audiencesIdeally, candidate is located in the Northeast; other locations considered with strong qualificationsAbout the CompanyLandmark Bio is a Watertown, Massachusetts–based company focused on advancing the development and manufacturing of genetic medicines and other advanced therapies.
