Overview
We are inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant, Java Backend Developer. In this role, you will be responsible for coding, testing, and delivering high quality deliverables, and should be willing to learn new technologies.
Location & Work Arrangement
* Location: Alpharetta, Georgia, United States.
* Work Schedule: 3 days work from office (days not yet fixed by team).
Compensation & Benefits
* Salary: $100,000/year.
* Benefits: Full.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* 10+ years of experience.
* Strong with multithreading, concurrency, JVM, Spring, SQL, microservices.
* Local candidates within 50 miles from Alpharetta; 3 days onsite is mandatory.
Responsibilities
* Work as a Java developer in the Strategic Client Reporting team.
* Responsible for providing a stable technical solution which is robust and scalable as per business needs.
* Provide hands-on code development and testing based on the project delivery needs.
* Ensure that system architecture and integration design standards are in alignment with broader platform strategies and business goals.
* Work closely with squad/team and other IT partners on a day-to-day basis to ensure smooth delivery of projects in Agile model.
* Acquire a robust understanding of financial products, services, processes, and organizational structure in order to find optimal solutions.
* Maintain awareness of industry trends, compliance concerns, risk control processes, and regulatory landscape.
* Mentor other software developers.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
* BE/B Tech/MCA.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
* Work experience primarily with building enterprise server-side applications using Java/J2EE technologies.
* Multithreading & concurrency.
* JVM fundamentals (memory, GC basics, performance tuning).
* Extensive experience with Spring framework.
* Strong experience with relational databases (RDBMS).
* Excellent SQL skills, including joins, subqueries, indexing, and performance tuning.
* Snowflake experience is a strong plus.
* Good working knowledge of Linux/Unix (shell scripting, log analysis, process monitoring).
* Understanding of application deployment and runtime environments.
* Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
* Git-based version control.
* Build tools (Maven/Gradle).
* Exposure to containerization like Docker is a plus.
* Kubernetes (nice to have).
* Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Jira.
* Ability to review code.
* Snowflake or cloud data warehouse experience.
* Cloud platforms: Azure/AWS/GCP.
* Messaging systems: Kafka/RabbitMQ.
* Microservices architecture.
* Security best practices (OAuth2, JWT, SSO, SAML concepts).
* Performance optimization and troubleshooting in production systems.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently and in team-based environments.
* Ownership mindset and attention to detail.
