Job SummaryThe HR Generalist / Payroll Coordinator will support a fast-paced data center and telecommunications organization with employees across multiple states. This role is responsible for administering core HR functions and managing end-to-end payroll operations while ensuring strict compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws. The ideal candidate brings strong multi-state HR experience, hands-on payroll processing expertise, a solid compliance background, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. This position requires bilingual fluency (English/Spanish required) to effectively support a diverse workforce.Key ResponsibilitiesHuman ResourcesAdminister and support day-to-day HR functions, including onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, and performance managementEnsure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple statesMaintain, update, and enforce company HR policies and proceduresServe as a trusted resource for managers and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and best practicesHandle employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminationsPartner with leadership on workforce planning, organizational needs, and employee engagement initiativesSupport audits, documentation, and reporting related to HR complianceAssist with benefits administration, leaves of absence, and workers’ compensation coordinationCollaborate with legal counsel or external partners on compliance or employment-related mattersSupport HR initiatives specific to field-based, project-based, and technical workforces in the data center and telecommunications environmentPayroll CoordinationManage and process accurate, timely multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employeesEnsure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour lawsCoordinate payroll inputs including timekeeping, new hires, terminations, pay changes, bonuses, and deductionsReconcile payroll reports, address discrepancies, and resolve payroll-related employee inquiriesPartner with finance, accounting, and external payroll vendors as neededSupport payroll audits, tax filings, garnishments, and year-end reporting (W-2s, etc.)Maintain payroll records with a high level of confidentiality and accuracyRequired QualificationsMinimum of 3–5 years of HR Generalist experience with payroll processing responsibilitiesProven experience supporting employees across multiple statesStrong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and payroll regulationsBilingual fluency required (English/Spanish)Experience in data center, telecommunications, construction, or similar technical industriesAbility to work remotely while supporting a geographically dispersed workforceExcellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skillsHigh level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive informationMust be based in TexasPreferred QualificationsLegal or compliance-focused HR experienceSHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification (strongly preferred)Experience supporting hourly, field-based, or project-driven workforcesExperience with multi-state payroll systems and timekeeping platforms
