Requirements and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: - Own the end-to-end month-end close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments. - Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly. - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. - Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all accounts are substantiated and documented. - Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and reconciliations. - Identify and implement improvements to the close process to reduce cycle time and increase accuracy. - Partner with leadership to ensure financial data is audit-ready and decision-ready at all times. - Maintain and strengthen internal controls around the close and reporting cycle. Required Skills and Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CA preferred. - 3-5 years of accounting experience with a clear focus on G/L and month-end close. - Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting system. - Strong command of Google Sheets and Excel. - Deep knowledge of GAAP, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation. - Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage tight close deadlines without sacrificing accuracy. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. - Comfortable working independently in a fully remote, fast-paced startup environment. Preferred Qualifications: - CPA license, or progress toward professional certification. - Exposure to AI tools or automated accounting workflows.
