Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to join our team and help build, maintain, and continuously improve Samurai Seller, our internal software platform. This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying new features, integrations, and custom solutions that support our business operations and improve efficiency across multiple departments.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can take ownership of projects from concept to deployment, write clean and scalable code, and develop virtually any functionality the business requires. You should be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced remote environment while collaborating with employees to transform ideas into reliable software solutions.
Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week) – Remote
Schedule: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST
Responsibilities
-Software Development
-Design, develop, test, and deploy new features for Samurai Seller.
-Build custom tools, modules, and functionality based on business requirements.
-Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code.
-Participate in code reviews and maintain high coding standards.
-Develop scalable solutions that support future business growth.
-System Enhancements & Maintenance
-Maintain and improve the existing Samurai Seller platform.
-Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues promptly.
-Optimize application performance, reliability, and security.
-Refactor existing code to improve maintainability and efficiency.
-Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement.
Integrations & Automation
-Develop and maintain integrations with third-party APIs and internal systems.
-Build automation tools to streamline workflows and eliminate manual processes.
-Ensure data integrity and seamless communication between connected systems.
-Create new features and integrations as business needs evolve.
-Collaboration & Project Ownership
-Work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
-Provide technical recommendations and contribute to product planning.
-Manage multiple development projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
-Communicate project progress, challenges, and proposed solutions effectively.
Documentation & Best Practices
-Document new features, system architecture, and development processes.
-Maintain version control using Git and follow established development workflows.
-Follow software development best practices for testing, deployment, and security.
-Continuously research new technologies and recommend improvements when appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred but not required with equivalent experience).
-3+ years of professional software development experience.
-Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, PHP, C#, or Java).
-Experience building and maintaining web applications.
-Experience working with REST APIs and third-party integrations.
-Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.).
-Experience using Git or other version control systems.
-Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to develop new features from concept through deployment with minimal supervision.
-Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
-Experience developing internal business applications or ERP-style systems.
-Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
-Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
-Experience optimizing application performance and scalability.
-Experience with e-commerce platforms, inventory management systems, or marketplace integrations is a plus.
-Understanding of software architecture, security best practices, and database optimization.
