Stormwater Engineer - NSW Residential Subdivision (Remote)Work From Home | Full-Time | AU Hours | PH-BasedOutsourcedIn is partnering with an Australian consultancy to hire an experienced Stormwater Engineer with strong expertise in NSW residential building and land subdivision projects.This role is focused on delivering compliant stormwater drainage designs for duplexes, townhouses, custom homes, and Torrens Title / greenfield subdivisions in accordance with NSW council requirements and Australian Standards.The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with NSW OSD (On-Site Detention) systems and council submission processes.About the RoleYou will be responsible for preparing compliant stormwater management designs, supporting DA/CC submissions, and ensuring drainage solutions align with NSW DCP and ARR standards.This is a technical role requiring strong compliance knowledge and detailed documentation capability.Key ResponsibilitiesStormwater Design & EngineeringDesign stormwater systems for single dwellings, duplexes, and multi-dwelling developmentsDesign drainage systems for Torrens Title and greenfield subdivisions (ESSENTIAL)Prepare Stormwater Management Plans (SWMP)Perform hydraulic modelling and runoff calculations (ARR 2019 compliant)Design OSD systems in line with NSW council DCP requirementsPrepare DA / CC documentation and engineering drawingsCompliance & StandardsEnsure compliance with NCC, AS/NZS 3500, ARR 2019, and NSW Council DCP requirementsApply WSUD principles where requiredInterpret and implement Sydney Water requirements (advantage)Coordination & Project SupportCoordinate with planners, surveyors, architects, and certifiersProvide construction-stage support and respond to RFIsEnsure drainage layouts align with easements, overland flow paths, and inter-allotment drainage requirementsTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of NSW drainage and subdivision requirementsPit & pipe network design for residential subdivisionsOSD tank sizing and orifice design calculationsProficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3DExperience with DRAINS, MUSIC, or similar hydraulic softwareStrong understanding of overland flow paths and drainage complianceMandatory RequirementsBachelors Degree in Civil Engineering5+ years stormwater / civil drainage design experienceMinimum 1–2 years NSW residential subdivision experience (ESSENTIAL)Experience liaising directly with NSW councilsStrong written documentation skills for council submissionsHighly RegardedKnowledge of Sydney Water requirementsCPEng qualification (desirable but not essential)Experience supporting multiple residential projects simultaneouslyIdeal Candidate ProfileDetail-oriented with strong compliance focusFamiliar with NSW certifier and council submission processesAble to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced residential environmentProactive communicator working with Australian teams remotely
