Responsibilities

Business Development Consultant Source: - Build your own pipeline of qualified prospects, using whatever channels and methods work for you. - Screen prospects against C2's fit profile and reach a pursue or pass decision before investing real effort. - Own your outreach and your conversion rate from first contact to first meeting. Diagnose: - Establish where a prospect actually stands in the federal market: their position, their history, what they hold, what is coming up for recompete. - Identify the agency demand that matches their capability and be able to show your reasoning. - Name the specific business development failure and its consequence, and say it to the client's face in the first conversation. - Ground your conclusions in verifiable sources, because C2 does not put unsupported claims in front of a client. Sell: - Convert qualified prospects into a Federal Market Entry Assessment or directly into a retainer engagement. - Scope and price the engagement against what the client actually needs rather than what they asked for. - Own the close, including the objection that they should hire someone in-house instead. Deliver: - Own the engagement end to end across the ten-month term, including the advisory cadence for that tier. - Build the target agency set and an opportunity qualification framework the client can still use after the engagement ends. - Position their capability against the decision-maker's actual priorities rather than a generic capability bucket. - Set a vehicle strategy matched to how the target agency actually buys. - Open and manage program office, requirements owner, and contracting office engagement, and prepare the client to hold those meetings without you. - Build a pipeline ahead of solicitation release rather than a reactive list of open opportunities. - Deliver every client-facing document to C2's quality standard. Own the account: - Keep your pipeline and engagements visible to C2 so accounts can be covered if you are unavailable. - Flag risk on an account early enough that it can be fixed. - Invoice monthly and manage your own schedule against outcomes.
