You'll own well-scoped features from technical design through launch, working closely with your backend, iOS, and design counterparts.Success in this role looks like shipping reliable, performant, and polished Android experiences that keep parity with our iOS and web surfaces, growing your ownership over time as the Android presence for this team expands, and becoming a dependable contributor the team can count on to deliver.A Typical Day:Design and build Android features using modern, declarative UI and unidirectional state architecturePartner with product and design to turn new concepts into polished, accessible Android experiencesCollaborate with backend, iOS, and web engineers to keep feature behavior and data consistent across platformsWrite clean, well-tested, maintainable code, and actively participate in code and design reviewsLearn from and collaborate with senior engineers on the team, and contribute to shared Android patterns and best practices as the team scalesTroubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance, and reliability issues affecting the Android appYour Expertise:3+ years of professional Android engineering experience, including shipping features in a large-scale, production consumer appProficiency in Kotlin and modern Android architecture, including declarative UI (e.g., Jetpack Compose), unidirectional state management (MVI/MVVM), and dependency injectionExperience working with backend and other platform (iOS and web) engineers to integrate APIs and keep cross-platform experiences consistentA track record of delivering features from technical design through launch and iteration, with growing scope and independenceStrong communication and collaboration skills, and a habit of seeking and acting on feedbackComfort operating with some ambiguity, including on a newly formed team establishing new surfaces for the first timeSolid understanding of mobile app performance, accessibility, and release/CI practices for a large-scale consumer appYour Location:This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. While the position is Remote Eligible, you must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.
