We're looking for someone who wants to own their impact and find simple solutions to complex problems that are tailored to our needs. We use GCP, Pulumi, Postgres, and TypeScript, but prior experience is not required.In this role, you willTake responsibility for Anrok's reliability, security, scalability, and performance.Drive technical decisions about our infrastructure.Identify and fix bugs and technical debt.Collaborate with other engineers and management to build high-impact solutions.Example project areas:Improve system observability and provide tools to enable product engineers to own application observability.Scale our database layer through sharding, replication, and splitting out services when it makes sense.Refactor existing systems to take into account present and evolving needs.What excites usYou have a strong technical background, with 5+ years of experience in software engineering.You have 5+ years of experience operating cloud-deployed software at scale using config-as-code.Experience managing relational databases at scale is a plus, but not required.You have a security mindset and think carefully about edge cases.You think through problems thoroughly to ensure we're building the right solution to the right problem at the right time, and you will push back when necessary.Your designs take into account current and future needs, technical debt, and maintenance, and you can clearly articulate the tradeoffs.You level up the people around you by sharing your knowledge and experience.You’re curious and motivated to learn new tools — you've experimented with AI in your work or on your own, you're excited about what's possible, and you've built something with it (an application, a workflow, a creative solution to a real problem) that you can walk us through.What we offerThe equity upside of an early-stage startup with the product-market fit of a later-stage company.Daily lunch and snacks for those working out of our San Francisco office.Medical, dental, and vision insurance covered 100%.One Medical membership covered, flexible sick benefits and more.Annual learning and development stipend for books, online courses, and conferences, as well as a curious team to share your learnings with.Annual team offsites and in-person opportunities around our growing Anrok hubs.Home office setup stipend to ensure you have the equipment you need to thrive at work.At Anrok, we embrace a dynamic and flexible hybrid work environment based out of our growing office hubs - San Francisco, New York City, and Salt Lake City where we collaborate in-person 3 days per week.For employees located outside of these hub cities, we offer a fully remote setup U.S only.
