BerryDunn is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Healthcare Group within the Healthcare Compliance Practice. This role supports clients across diverse healthcare settings by strengthening compliance programs, mitigating regulatory risk, and enhancing operational integrity.Key Focus Areas:Regulatory Compliance & Risk MitigationRevenue Integrity & Audit SupportHIPAA Privacy & SecurityCoding & Billing ComplianceHealthcare Operations & Process ImprovementCompliance Program DevelopmentData Analysis & MonitoringThis position works collaboratively with clients as a trusted advisor, delivering compliance solutions, conducting audits, and supporting proactive risk identification in a dynamic regulatory environment. This role is remote but may require occasional travel.Travel Expectations: This role requires minimal travel, less than 10% per year. You WillLead and support compliance program development, including policies, procedures, risk assessments, and workplansConduct compliance risk assessments and gap analyses across clinical, operational, and revenue cycle functionsServe as a subject matter resource for regulatory guidance, including federal and state healthcare laws and payer requirementsSupport clients with audit defense activitiesDevelop and deliver compliance trainingAnalyze data to identify trends, outliers, and potential compliance risks; present findings to stakeholdersAdvise clients on best practices for HIPAA privacy and breach response. Assist in implementation and monitoring of corrective action plans and compliance initiativesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workflows, internal controls, and documentation practices Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes (e.g., CMS, OIG Work Plan, payer updates) and assess impact to clientsServe as an outsourced/fractional compliance resource, supporting day-to-day compliance needs and strategic initiativesContribute to client deliverables, reports, and presentations with clear, actionable recommendationsParticipate in business development support activities, including proposal developmentYou HaveExperience (required):3-5+ years of experience in healthcare compliance, consulting, practice administration or related fieldExperience interpreting and applying healthcare regulations (e.g. CMS, OIG, HIPAA, state-specific requirements)Exposure to multiple care settings (e.g., physician practices, hospitals, outpatient services) preferredExperience supporting or participating in external audits or regulatory inquires strongly preferredQualifications:Bachelor’s degree requiredOne or more relevant certifications required:Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC)CPC or other AAPC or AHIMA coding/auditing credential is a plus but not requiredStrong understanding of healthcare compliance program elements and regulatory frameworksAbility to conduct independent regulatory research and translate findings into practice guidanceProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)Experience with Electronic Health RecordsCore Competencies:Strong analytical and critical thinking skillsExcellent written and verbal communication, including client-facing presentation skillsHigh attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyProfessional judgement, integrity, and ability to handle sensitive informationAdaptability in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory landscapeCompensation DetailsThe base salary range targeted for this role is $100,000 - $125,000.  This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on factors such as company and personal performance.  This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
