Our Sports Analytics & Engineering Practice is seeking a seasoned Senior Data Engineer, whose primary focus would be defining and bringing our client’s vision for their ultra-modern data environment to life. These data assets will be used across business & data analytics teams and will become the core repository for their data needs. This involves discovering needs for data stakeholders, architecting solutions, and building infrastructure to transform raw data into high-value data assets that support those needs. Building these cloud-centric assets will be key in driving the mission to build word class customer data platform. We are looking for an individual who cares about organizing data into reusable and maintainable components and can bring their energy to helping us grow this function.ResponsibilitiesYou will leverage your experience and skills with Data Modeling, SQL, Jinja templating and DBT to build robust, performant, and reliable data transformation and feature extraction pipelinesCollaborate with business and technical team members to collect business requirements to deliver best-in-class dimensional data models to serve as single-source-of-truth for product, customer, and marketing analyticsDesign, develop and maintain the data architecture, data models and standards for various Data Integration & Data Warehouse projects in DBT & RedshiftFull stack ownership of data models in DBT to supercharge analysts, data scientists, and BI engineersDefine, develop, and enhance the dbt/SQL codebase and companion ERD documents used to bring the Analytics Warehouse to lifeRequired QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) degree in in a quantitative or technical field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or equivalent7+ years of experience and progressive responsibility in data and analytics and modern data platforms7+ years writing SQL with advanced level knowledge, including various join types, CTEs, partitioning, pivoting, and aggregates4+ years’ extensive experience with DBT or similar data transformation tools, including building complex & maintainable DBT models and developing DBT packages/macrosDeep familiarity with dimensional modeling/data warehousing concepts and expertise in designing, implementing, operating, and extending enterprise dimensional modelsUnderstand change data capture conceptsExperience working with Cloud data platforms, preferably AWS (Lambda, Step Functions, S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift)
