Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced University Language Expert Recruiter to build and manage strategic partnerships with universities across Europe, Asia, and India. This role will focus on attracting, sourcing, and onboarding top-tier language experts from academic institutions to support our growing global language services and AI data projects.Key ResponsibilitiesUniversity Partnership DevelopmentEstablish and maintain relationships with language departments, linguistics programs, and translation schools at universities across Europe, Asia, and IndiaDevelop targeted recruitment strategies for engaging with academic institutions in key regionsAttend university career fairs, conferences, and academic events to promote opportunities and build talent pipelinesCreate partnerships with professional linguistic associations and academic networksTalent Sourcing & AcquisitionIdentify and recruit graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty members with expertise in linguistics, translation, and specialized subject domainsSource candidates with specialized skills in rare languages, STEM fields, and technical translationUtilize platforms including LinkedIn, Handshake, Euraxess, and region-specific academic job boardsBuild robust talent pipelines to meet current and future project demandsScreening & OnboardingConduct initial screening of candidates to assess language proficiency, academic credentials, and domain expertiseCoordinate testing and vetting processes in collaboration with the Talent & Community teamManage end-to-end onboarding of university-sourced experts, ensuring timely integration into projectsMaintain accurate records of candidate qualifications, test results, and onboarding status in ATS and vendor management systemsProgram ManagementDesign and implement recruitment campaigns targeting university populationsTrack and report on sourcing metrics, pipeline health, and time-to-hire for academic talentCollaborate with Production and Strategy teams to understand specialized staffing needsDevelop marketing materials and job postings that resonate with academic audiencesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Linguistics, Translation Studies, or related field preferred3+ years of experience in recruitment, vendor management, or talent acquisition, preferably in language services or localizationProven track record of building partnerships with academic institutionsStrong understanding of the language services industry, translation processes, and quality standardsExcellent communication and relationship-building skills across diverse cultural contextsProficiency in English; additional language skills highly valuedExperience with ATS platforms (Ashby preferred) and SFDC or similar CRM systemsAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsEstablished network of contacts within university language departments in Europe, Asia, or IndiaExperience recruiting for AI/ML data projects or specialized technical rolesKnowledge of academic career pathways and motivations for freelance workFamiliarity with ISO 9001, ISO 17100, or other quality management standardsExperience with multilingual recruitment and cross-cultural talent acquisitionKey CompetenciesStrategic thinking and ability to develop long-term institutional partnershipsCultural sensitivity and global mindsetStrong organizational and project management skillsData-driven approach to recruitment metrics and pipeline managementCollaborative spirit and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teamsAbout LILTAI is changing how the world communicates — and LILT is leading that transformation.LILT's mission is to make the world's information available to everyone, no matter the language they speak.
