You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and business leadership to help shape the future of Capital through data-driven decision making.For Capital to succeed, many of our most important product and business decisions depend on balancing complex trade-offs across pricing, conversion, offer volume, losses, and profitability. In many ways, data-driven decision making is the product itself.We’re looking for someone who can operate as a strategic thought partner , not simply answer predefined questions, but help determine:What problems we should solve, and the right way to design and implement solutionsDefining and measuring success across product, merchant, and business outcomesOptimizing for both merchant success and business performance, balancing growth, risk, and operational tradeoffsWhat you’ll be doing:Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to influence product strategy through deep analytical insights and decision frameworksLead ambiguous and high-impact analytical initiatives end-to-end, from problem definition through recommendation and implementationBuild analytical models and frameworks that optimize trade-offs across risk, pricing, conversion, profitability, and customer outcomesDesign and evaluate experiments, including pricing and conversion optimization initiativesTranslate complex business problems into structured analytical approaches and measurable success criteriaIdentify product opportunities, operational inefficiencies, and strategic insights through deep analysis of large-scale transactional and product datasetsDeliver executive-level recommendations and influence roadmap decisions using dataCollaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Finance, and GTM teams to operationalize data-informed decisionsWhat you need to bring:We’re looking for a senior, highly analytical candidate who is comfortable operating in ambiguity and influencing decisions at both the strategic and operational level.You likely have experience with:Advanced SQL and strong analytical skills working with large-scale product or transactional datasetsPython for analytics, experimentation, statistical analysis, or modelingProduct analytics, experimentation, and decision science methodologiesBuilding analytical frameworks that drive business and product decisionsLeading cross-functional analytical initiatives independentlyTranslating ambiguous business questions into structured analysis and actionable recommendationsStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence Product and Engineering teamsData visualization and storytelling experience using tools such as Looker, Tableau, or similar BI platformsExperience working within product organizations at technology or fintech companiesNice to have:Experience in fintech, lending, payments, or risk-related domainsExperience in Data Science, predictive modeling, or optimization problemsWhy this role matters:This is not a traditional reporting or dashboard-focused analytics role.We’re looking for someone who can act as a strategic product partner — someone who uses data to influence product direction, challenge assumptions, evaluate trade-offs, and help drive some of the most important decisions within the Capital business.You’ll work on high-impact problems with significant visibility across Product, Engineering, and business leadership, and play a key role in shaping the future of Financial Services at Lightspeed.We know that people are more than what’s on their CV. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We reasonably expect the total compensation for this position to be in the range of $115k TO $135k CAD. Lightspeed also provides a variety of employee benefits including, but not limited to, medical, dental, wellness, life and disability insurance, RRSP plan and match, paid parental leave top-up, and paid time off.Please note that this compensation information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within Ontario (update to BC if posted in Vancouver) and reflects the amount Lightspeed is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
