Responsibilities

DTC Retention Agency (Klaviyo)We need a copywriter who thinks visually and writes strategically. We build designed, branded email experiences for DTC ecommerce brands. The copy and the design must work together to further the brand vision. What the work looks likeWrite flow and campaign copy for brands across skincare, apparel, CPG, and wellness.Welcome sequences, post-purchase flows, winbacks, abandon flows, campaign calendars, and promotional sends.Every piece of copy you write will live inside a designed email layout, so you need to understand how your words interact with imagery, whitespace, module structure, and visual hierarchy. What we're looking forYou can look at two emails side by side and tell us which one is better and why, from both a copy and design standpointYou write with the final visual layout in mind. You think in sections and modules, not paragraphsYou understand how copy length, headline weight, CTA placement, and image-to-text ratio affect performanceYou can match and adapt to distinct brand voices without everything reading like AI outputYou think about the reader's mindset at each touchpoint. A post-purchase email and a winback email require completely different energyYou understand DTC fundamentals: product education, social proof, urgency, cross-sell, subscription conversion, and you know when each lever is appropriateYou can articulate why you made a copy decision, not just what you wroteNice to haveKlaviyo experience (flows, campaigns, dynamic content, Liquid basics)Ability to concept email layouts alongside your copy, even as rough wireframes or annotated briefsExperience working with designers or handing off structured copy that maps to visual modulesBonus: On AI usageWe're not anti-AI. If you use AI tools to work faster, ideate, draft, or scale your output, this is a genuine advantage. What matters is that the final product doesn't read or feel like AI output. We want people who use AI as a multiplier for their own taste and judgment, not as a replacement for it. If you've built workflows or prompting approaches that let you produce more high-quality work without sacrificing voice or strategy, tell us about it.Do not apply ifYour email work is primarily plain-text or text-heavy direct response styleYou don't consider or value design in your work
