Due to the continued success and expansion of our Data Centre business in Germany, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager (m/f/d) to join our Data Centre team in Frankfurt.In this role, you will oversee the pre-construction, construction, commissioning, and close-out phases of a hyperscale, state of the art data center project for a global technology client onsite.Responsibilities:Lead and manage all mechanical pre-construction activities, including design constructability, procurement, contracts, and budget planningAct as the main point of contact for mechanical-related client concerns and communicationEnsure mechanical construction is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standardsOversee installation of mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related infrastructureAlign mechanical designs with overall project intent and client expectations, resolving issues during constructionSupport design teams with constructability and localization, collaborating across disciplinesEnsure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety protocols throughout all phasesProvide technical guidance to ensure contract documents and specifications are regionally relevantPlay a key role in selecting and procuring contractors and vendorsSupervise mechanical subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure quality and safety complianceMaintain full-time on-site presence for inspections and construction supervisionLead commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring operational performance and complete documentationManage final project closeout and seamless handover of mechanical systems to the clientAdvise clients and protect their interests throughout the project lifecycleIdentify and mitigate risks related to mechanical systemsEnforce quality control and ensure adherence to local regulationsApprove subcontractor invoices and monitor work schedulesConduct site safety audits and ensure health and safety complianceTrack progress against project schedule and budget, addressing delays or cost overrunsManage scope changes with proper documentation and approval processesQualificationsUniversity degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Professional certifications are a plusSeveral years of experience in mechanical project management on construction sites, which includes experience working on data center construction projectsProven experience managing large, complex mechanical systems installations and commissioning processesExpertise in mechanical systems commonly used in data centers, such as HVAC, cooling, fire suppression, and energy management systemsExperience with Owner’s Representation and working directly with clients, contractors, and other stakeholdersStrong understanding of mechanical design, construction methods, and systems integration.Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and budgetingProficient in construction management software and toolsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersHighly organized with attention to detail and a commitment to qualityStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressureAbility to navigate complex stakeholder relationships and manage expectations effectivelyClient-focused and proactive in identifying and resolving issuesAvailability for fulltime on-site workFluent English and German language skillsAdditional InformationOur inspired people share our vision and mission.
