Responsibilities - Accurately interpret medical terminology, diagnoses, treatments, and other information between patients and providers - Provide cultural mediation to help patients navigate the healthcare system and help providers understand cultural context - Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to professional interpretation ethics - Document interpretation sessions (date, time, duration, type) - Stay current on medical terminology and healthcare practices Qualifications - Fluency in Spanish and English - Experience in medical interpretation or translation - Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with the healthcare system - Good communication skills, cultural sensitivity, ability to work well under pressure - Technical: 15 Mbps download/upload, USB headset, PC (5th gen+, min 8GB RAM), Ethernet connection, HD webcam Compensation & Terms - $5 USD/hour, paid monthly via Payoneer - Independent contractor position, hourly shift program in EST - Paid 80-hour training program (10 business days) — trainees paid at half the agreed rate - Attendance and QA bonuses included - Final assessment conducted via LanguageStat before portal access is granted - No leave permitted during the first month, except emergencies with prior supervisor approval
