Role purpose & contribution: 1. Manage and lead the strategic planning cycle and process with the HCLA Executive team to align with HCM and HCLA’s 3–5 year growth targets and regional plans. 2. Translate corporate strategic objectives and initiatives into assessable options as preparation for the strategic growth plan development, ensuring business growth, profitability and efficiency. 3. Ensure strategic planning processes and design remain current and innovative, with stakeholder involvement to ensure system effectiveness. 4. Review and examine mid-term plans for alignment with strategic targets and plans. 5. Monitor key strategic initiatives through project management, encompassing a range of project types. 6. Lead and oversee the company’s strategic initiative execution process implementation with all business functions across the matrix organisational structure to achieve business goals. 7. Provide market and customer trend analysis to support commercial activities. Functional Responsibilities: · Partner with CEO, CFO and Executive Team to develop and implement the mid-term strategy and plans to support the company’s business objectives and growth strategies. · Contribute and lead discussions for strategic planning processes and cycles with internal and external stakeholders and HCM as part of the team contributing to the effective mid-term plan completion. · Provide support and advice to management on proposed solutions and ideas to improve company efficiency, identify opportunities, and drive changes through strategic business planning processes across the organisation. · Assist the Executive team and all functional teams to reach and exceed business goals. · Ensure all aspects of projects are compliant with HCLA’s proactive safety and sustainability culture, delivering the required output in a controlled risk environment. · Collect, consolidate and analyse information and data to support effective decision-making. · Provide regular updates and timely reporting on all activities through monthly reports and project appraisals, ensuring key initiative objectives are met and mitigation plans are in place for any gaps, issues, delays or risks. · Raise and resolve variations in project scope and communicate with relevant stakeholders. Work Planning and Scheduling: · Ensure compliance with company requirements. · Work semi-autonomously to schedule own work requirements and activities to meet agreed timelines and goals. · Define and agree on project charter, scope, work plans, budgets and schedules in conjunction with stakeholders, suppliers and subcontractors to prioritise, plan, execute and monitor projects. · Collaborate with project delivery managers to develop plans and processes to meet current and future project needs, reviewing against resource plans and work priorities within the function or area. People and Organisation: · Demonstrate a visible commitment to company values and positive working behaviours through personal example, ensuring that team and individual work is safe, authorised, productive and measurable. · Define and communicate tasks and performance expectations, then monitor performance against plans to meet targets and budgets, taking corrective action or escalating where necessary. · Champion a culture of continuous improvement through organisational communication and education. · Manage, lead and develop department employees through mentoring, coaching, training, recruitment, professional development, and timely performance evaluation. · Undertake site visits if required where updates or issues cannot be managed through remote methods or virtual team meetings. · Proactively raise any issues. · Carry out any other tasks as requested from time to time. Education/Professional Qualifications Required for the Position: · Bachelor’s degree. Additional Important Requirements: · Business-level English skills (written and spoken). · Accounting skills to understand and analyse financial statements and their models. · Ability to perform duties effectively in a fast-paced environment, working independently or under direction. · Minimal travel may be required. General Competencies: · Proactive, clear thinker, self-starter, process-oriented. · Capable of handling multiple issues simultaneously and executing them to completion. · Ability to work in complex international environments with different cultures and an open mind to diversity. Skills: · Computer: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Management. · Strong oral and written communication skills. · Strong interpersonal and coordinating skills. · Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
