Ready to make a difference in the world?About the RoleWe’re looking for a Mobile UX Designer to help shape and elevate Firstup’s mobile experience—the primary way frontline and deskless workers engage with their organizations.This role is ideal for a designer who thrives in complex, real-world environments and is passionate about crafting intuitive, high-impact mobile experiences across iOS and Android. You’ll play a critical role in both evolving existing experiences and creating new concepts that improve how users interact with communication and engagement tools on mobile.You’ll partner closely with Product Management and Engineering to define user experiences, translate requirements into thoughtful designs, and ensure high-quality execution from concept through delivery. Success in this role means delivering simple, effective, and scalable mobile experiences that perform in fast-paced, real-world conditions.What You’ll DoDesign intuitive, user-centered mobile experiences across iOS and Android, from early concepts through final implementation.Collaborate closely with Product Managers to define, refine, and negotiate product requirements and acceptance criteria.Partner with Engineering to understand technical constraints, platform capabilities, and implementation trade-offs.Lead design efforts across both new feature development and redesign of existing experiences.Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.Design and explore AI-assisted user experiences, including intelligent workflows and personalization.Contribute to and evolve a scalable mobile design system by defining reusable patterns and components.Advocate for the user through research, feedback, and data.Design for real-world usage conditions such as low connectivity and short session times.Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure a cohesive mobile experience.What You Bring5+ years of experience in UX/Product Design with a focus on native mobile apps.Proven ability to design and ship high-quality mobile experiences.Strong understanding of mobile UX patterns and platform guidelines.Experience working with Product Managers and Engineers.Ability to work independently and proactively.Strong communication and collab oration skills.Experience balancing user needs with technical constraints.Proficiency with tools like Figma. Bonus:Experience in corporate communications or related domains.Experience designing for frontline or deskless workers.Experience with AI-powered features or tools.Familiarity with data-informed design.What Success Looks LikeDelivery of intuitive mobile experiences that improve usability and engagement.Strong alignment across Product, Design, and Engineering.Continuous improvement through iteration and feedback.A cohesive and scalable mobile UX supported by reusable patterns.This is a contract role with compensation expected to be $50-80/hr and budgeted to last through February 2027.Why Firstup?Because you care - about people, the work you do, and the connections you make.
