Requirements and responsibilities

We are placing a HubSpot-centric RevOps/Systems Operator inside a fast-growing, founder-run U.S. company that is building its entire sales infrastructure from scratch. Role Description: - This is a solo systems-admin seat, not a sales role. - You would be the only technical/ops person in the building, sitting between the frontline sales team and the CEO, and reporting directly to leadership (no VP layer in between). Responsibilities: - Building the sales CRM in HubSpot largely from zero: pipelines, custom properties, lifecycle stages, automations. - Custom-coded workflow action steps: This role needs someone comfortable writing real code inside HubSpot workflows (using tools like Claude Code), not just configuring no-code steps or building AI agents. - Integrating a third-party order/business software into HubSpot via API or webhook for data visibility. - Building reporting and dashboards that a technically sharp, skeptical stakeholder will actually trust. - Fielding day-to-day system issues from the frontline so they do not land on the CEO's desk, and knowing what needs to go up to leadership versus what you just fix. How It Works: - You would work directly inside the client's team as their employee. - Our team recruits, screens, and skill-tests you first, then supports the handoff and stays available as you ramp up. Expectations: - This is a builder's seat, not a maintain-what-exists seat; expect ambiguity, especially in the first weeks. - The business runs on a home-built system today with close to zero sales infrastructure; you are building the machine, not tuning one that already works. - Pace is fast out of the gate. - Availability and responsiveness in the first 30 days matter a lot. - Communication style matters: clear, proactive, no drama; speak up early if something is unclear rather than guessing. - You will be working closely with a non-technical, time-strapped founder; the job includes translating for them, not waiting for them to read documentation. Ideal Background: - Deep, hands-on HubSpot experience (pipelines, workflows, custom properties/objects). - Confirmed experience writing custom code inside workflow action steps, not just no-code tools or AI-agent building. - Comfortable with API/webhook-level integration work. - Experience working directly with a founder or small ownership team (versus only larger, process-heavy environments). - Strong English and clear, direct communication. - Prior experience with reporting/dashboards that hold up under scrutiny from a technically sharp stakeholder. Location & Availability: - Remote. - Needs meaningful overlap with U.S. Mountain/Pacific time zones; the business operates on Arizona hours. Compensation: - $2,500–$3,000/month, depending on experience. Why Join: - Full ownership of a system you build from the ground up. - Direct access to and daily working relationship with company leadership. - Long-term role with growth potential as the function matures. - Support from our internal team throughout screening, placement, and ramp-up.
