• We're a little bit different from most companies — and we're proud of it. Collage.com co-founders and childhood friends Kevin Borders and Joe Golden were students at the University of Michigan when Kevin ran into a problem: he wanted to create a one-of-a-kind anniversary collage for his girlfriend, Jen, and there wasn't any software up to the task. He teamed up with Joe, and together they developed the software that would become Collage.com.
• What began as a literal labor of love (Kevin and Jen are now married) grew into something bigger, and Kevin and Joe decided to turn their project into a business. Today, they lead a fast-growing team of about 50 employees dedicated to making custom products easy for everyone.
• Unlike some of our competitors, we're not beholden to shareholders and we're not a giant corporation, so we're able to put our customers and employees first in everything we do. We're proud to be an employee-owned company with about 50 hard working team members. Collage.com was recently featured in a Harvard Business School case study for our innovative company culture, and we were also named to 2016's "Michigan 50 Companies to Watch" list as one of the most exciting companies in the state. (We're always looking for great candidates!)
• Because we're an all-remote company, chances are we have employees near you: our team lives everywhere from big cities like New York, San Francisco, and Detroit, to small towns in our company's home state of Michigan. We give back to the communities we serve, too. In 2016, we gave away more than $20,000 in donated products to nonprofits and local organizations. We've supported good causes ranging from helping kids in Flint, Michigan recover from the community's devastating lead water crisis to supporting programs for cancer patients and their families at the University of Michigan.
