Job DescriptionWhat you’d be doing in this roleAs Canva continues to scale, strong cloud foundations are critical to keeping our platform secure, compliant, and fast — without slowing teams down.As an Engineering Manager in Cloud Enablement, you’ll lead a high-impact infrastructure team responsible for the foundations that all other teams depend on. Your mission is to make governance invisible, automated, and enabling — so engineers can move quickly and responsibly across AWS and GCP.At the moment, this role is focused on:Leading and coaching a team of platform engineers building cloud landing zones, account vending, and governance foundationsDriving compliance by design through preventative controls, automation, and clear developer workflowsPartnering closely with Security, Risk & Compliance, and Platform teams to deliver data-informed governanceSupporting Canva’s Containers Everywhere company goal, including establishing GCP as a first-class environmentBalancing operational excellence with long-term platform strategy and scalabilityGrowing high performers through regular feedback, coaching, and career developmentAdvocating for governance as an enabler, not a blocker, to innovationYou’re probably a match ifYou’ve managed infrastructure or platform teams through complex technical challengesYou have a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure governance, ideally across AWS and/or GCPYou’re experienced in leading teams that operate critical, highly-scaled systemsYou’re comfortable translating complex technical concepts for a wide range of stakeholdersYou balance delivery, reliability, and long-term strategy with confidenceYou build trust, psychological safety, and a strong team cultureYou’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and helping teams find clarityAbout the teamThe Cloud Enablement team sits within Canva’s Core Infrastructure organisation.
