Mission: Building Futures Through Basketball, Mentorship & Community. About This Opportunity This is a professional leadership opportunity within a growing national 501(c)(3) sports and youth-development organization. Positions are currently volunteer/unpaid while NHSBA develops its national funding base, with the goal of transitioning key leadership positions to compensated roles as funding becomes available. Position Summary The COO will serve as NHSBA's senior operational leader, helping turn the organization's national vision into an organized, scalable, and accountable operating structure. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day national operations. Coordinate National Directors and Regional Directors. Translate strategic goals into operational plans. Establish policies, procedures, systems, and accountability standards. Lead national staff meetings and project reviews. Maintain the national operating calendar. Coordinate implementation of national programs and events. Support budgeting, planning, and resource allocation. Monitor organizational performance and deadlines. Help develop volunteer recruitment and onboarding systems. Ensure consistency across regional and local programs. Identify operational challenges and recommend solutions. Provide regular reports to the CEO and National Board. Ideal Candidate Experienced leaders in nonprofit operations, sports, education, youth development, business administration, or organizational management. Strong communication, organization, leadership, and project-management skills are essential.
