You will combine your technical and business expertise to architect solutions that convert distributed energy resources (DERs) into reliable virtual power plants, placing you at the forefront of the fight to stabilize the grid and reduce carbon emissions.Sales Engineers at EnergyHub operate at the intersection of our client-facing, product and technical teams, enabling solutions that sit between market demands and product capabilities. This Sales Engineering role will become an expert in the advancing world of distributed energy resources (DERs), combining technical and business acumen to design solutions involving the dynamic control of electric vehicle charging, smart thermostats, stationary batteries, and other connected devices to deliver value to utility clients. You will also hone client-facing sales skills while serving as the liaison to your colleagues in product, business development, and program delivery -- ensuring the development of cross-functional knowledge and expertise.Main ResponsibilitiesServe as a product expert within the Commercial team, understand the needs of EnergyHub’s growing base of utility clients and pair them with technical or service solutionsConduct discovery with prospective and existing clients on business requirements and key pain pointsWork closely with the Product team to design solutions that deliver compelling ROIArchitect and deliver on opportunities for improving EnergyHub’s proposal, contracting, and delivery process with AI and automation toolsFacilitate customer feedback so that EnergyHub’s Product team can inform the roadmapWork closely with EnergyHub’s product and marketing teams to ensure that EnergyHub is delivering the right message to the marketConvey the value of EnergyHub’s platform, services, and program offerings to clients and prospectsBachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in technical, enterprise software sales, product management, or related fields that includes Client-facing workEnergy industry preferred, particularly in energy asset aggregation or utility programsStrong sense of curiosity and a mission to learnIncredible project management and organizational skillsComfort communicating cross-functionally and externally with clientsAbility for periodic travel (~10%) for client visits, prospect demos, industry conferencesExperience with platform integrations, APIs, data transfers preferredExperience or data fluency with SQL or Python, Cloud BI tools, and AI agents preferredExperience with enterprise-level process management tools preferredBeing a generalist, curiosity, seeing the big pictureWorking in a fast, dynamic, cross-functional roleBringing order to chaos with organization and clear communicationMaking the grid cleaner through DER adoption and use of VPPsCollaborate with outstanding people: Our employees work hard, do great work, and enjoy collaborating and learning from each other.Make an immediate impact: New employees can expect to be given real responsibility for bringing new technologies to the marketplace. The role is also eligible for an uncapped, variable compensation target of $34,000, for an OTE target of $149,000, with uncapped earning potential above that threshold. The base salary range of this opportunity is determined within a range based on factors including qualifications, location and experience.
