Over $500M has been transacted through the platform, and our investors include GV (Google Ventures) and Foundation Capital.The RoleWe are looking for a senior data scientist for a contract to possible full time opportunity to partner with our PED (Product, Engineering, Design) teams and our diverse business units to help them understand our users, our product performance and our marketplace as a whole. This role sits on our Analytics team and will report directly to the Head of Analytics.The ideal candidate:Has a strong interest in using data to understand and address business and user problemsCan manage a diverse set of stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment on analytical prioritiesIs curious about how users engage with a product, and what this might mean for what the business should build or prioritize nextIs self motivated and can unblock themselves when the perfect dataset isn’t readily available or the business question isn’t clearly articulatedDives deeply into ambiguous questions, and refines them into clear problem statements that address what the business really cares about or what really matters to our usersResponsibilities:Work closely with PED to set goals, understand how users are engaging with our product, and learn from experiments in our two-sided marketplaceDevelop measurement frameworks and institute new metrics or reporting systems to help us understand our marketplace and usersAlign cross-functional stakeholders on the priorities and analytical roadmap for critical areas of our businessDesign and analyze experimentsDive deep on user behavior and the dynamics of our marketplaceUnpack business trends and diagnose drivers of business performanceCollaborate with the rest of the Analytics and Data Engineering teams and the broader data community to grow and nurture data culture at PeerspaceTechnical Environment:- Databases: Google BigQuery- Tooling: dbt Cloud, Airflow, Git- BI Tool: Tableau, Statsig (for A/B testing)- Languages: SQL, PythonQualifications:5+ years of experience in data science, product analytics, or similar functionsStrong SQL skills and comfort working with large datasetsExperience building visualizations with Tableau, Looker or similar BI platformsProficient in communicating insights to business partnersAbility to manage cross-functional stakeholders and prioritize an analytics roadmap in a dynamic environment with competing prioritiesExperience applying statistics and experiment design in a business contextExperience in at least one data-oriented language like Python, R or JuliaBachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Math, Computer Science, Engineering)Preferred Qualifications:Experience with another two-sided marketplaceExperience applying causal inference, predictive modeling or other advanced statistical methods in a business contextWhy Peerspace?Peerspace is proudly certified as a Great Place to Work™ and we're a remote first company with team members located in cities around the globe.DiversityAt Peerspace, we're dedicated to creating a team that's diverse, equitable and inclusive.
