Software Engineer – Technical Advisor $150/hour | Remote We are seeking highly experienced Software Engineers for a contract-remote opportunity supporting advanced software engineering and technical evaluation work. This opportunity is ideal for Senior, Staff, or Principal-level engineers, Tech Leads, and experienced Open-Source Maintainers who are comfortable working across complex production codebases and quickly adapting to unfamiliar technologies. What We’re Looking For 8+ years of production engineering experience preferred. Exceptional candidates with fewer years of experience may also be considered. Background as a Senior, Staff, or Principal Software Engineer, Tech Lead, or Open-Source Maintainer. Experience working in production codebases with rigorous code-review practices, including startups, big tech, or open-source environments. Strong polyglot engineering ability. Experience with Python and TypeScript is especially relevant, along with the ability to work in unfamiliar programming languages as needed. Hands-on experience with Docker, Git, and command-line tools (CLI) to reproduce, isolate, troubleshoot, and debug technical issues. Ability to work across multiple layers of a technology stack, including backend, frontend, APIs, data, testing, and developer tooling. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain why code fails, not simply how to fix it.
