Senior PHP Software Engineer (EU Remote) at LearnWorlds

LearnWorlds has c.7500 customers in more than 140 countries and our team is fully remote. However, we also offer the option of working from the office for those who want to mix things up. We have offices in Athens, Chania, and Limassol. LearnWorlds is looking for a talented and experienced Senior PHP Software Engineer to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for improving the LearnWorlds functionality and implementing new features. Our team is tight-knit and includes experienced engineers from various backgrounds. We value curiosity, learning aptitude, and the potential to grow. We have a startup mentality and love getting things done quickly. Our platform stack includes PHP, Go, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Beanstalk, and Redis. We use Google Cloud Platform services such as Cloud Compute Engine, Kubernetes, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, BigTable, and Firebase. Responsibilities: - Add new functionality to our codebase using best practices and processes - Work autonomously in self-managed teams with dedicated product owners, QA, and designers - Participate in the whole life-cycle of feature development - Take ownership of your work and come up with creative and efficient solutions - Collaborate with other teams such as e-Commerce, Integrations, Analytics, Authoring tools, and Automations - Maintain high standards in terms of code quality, reusability, testability, and maintainability - Troubleshoot and debug software issues - Build and maintain RESTful APIs - Work with relational databases (mainly PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (MongoDB, Redis, ElasticSearch) - Contribute to the team's positive and optimistic culture - Native or near-native Greek speaker is preferred
