The MissionTrustedHousesitters is a fast-growing, direct-to-consumer marketplace redefining pet care and travel. Our platform connects a global community of pet lovers through a unique, trust-based membership model. Sustainability is woven into how we operate, grow, and make decisions—we’re a certified B Corp with a “no planet B” ethos, and we need someone to carry that torch while our ESG Lead is on maternity leave. The RoleThis isn’t a role where you’ll be writing a strategy from scratch. The roadmap, Science Based Targets, and the decarbonisation pathway are already set. We need a self-sufficient operator to pick up the reins and drive it all forward—keeping 200+ B Corp commitments on track, managing carbon accounting, and acting as the go-to ESG voice across the business.Think of it as being the ESG business partner for an entire scale-up. You’ll work across every team, from marketing to procurement, translating complex sustainability data into action, storytelling, and board-level reporting. What You'll Be DoingESG Figurehead: Act as the primary point of contact for all ESG and sustainability matters across the business, regularly reporting progress to the executive and board teams and presenting quarterly updates company-wide.Carbon Accounting & Reporting: Own THS’s CO2e measurement and reporting, collating, analysing, recording, and maintaining the GHG emissions inventory. Manage the Greenly platform, reconcile data from Xero and other sources, and continuously develop reporting.B Corp Certification: Manage the maintenance of our B Corp ESG certification, ensuring we meet the standards we’ve committed to across 200+ requirements (including employee development reviews, volunteering programmes, and carbon reduction targets).Decarbonisation Delivery: Drive decarbonisation efforts in alignment with the Net Zero roadmap and Science Based Targets, working cross-functionally to implement solutions, measure outcomes, and foster a culture of responsible business.Impact Reporting & Storytelling: Project manage delivery of THS’s annual Impact Report by gathering data from metric owners, selecting content, and drafting the report. Work within marketing squads to support ESG storytelling, amplify impact, and mitigate communication risks.Flagship Impact Project: Drive forward and deliver THS’s flagship impact project.Operational Integration: Design and deliver process enhancements to embed sustainability considerations as we scale, including supporting procurement with ESG supplier screening and the corporate volunteering team with strategy-aligned opportunities.Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of ESG trends, regulations, and best practices to anticipate opportunities and potential impacts on the business.Who You AreThe B Corp Specialist: Hands-on experience leading at least one SME through B Corp certification and managing ongoing requirements, including working with the B Corp online assessment platform. The Carbon Accountant: Technical experience in carbon accounting, either via carbon literacy training or practical emissions tracking/measurement experience in a sustainability consultancy or in-house role. The Self-Starter: Energised by autonomy; you have everything you need to follow the strategy and adapt and build if processes evolve. The Cross-Functional Operator: Experienced at influencing and collaborating with senior stakeholders; can manage impact metrics across multiple owners, present to the board, and support a marketing squad. The Detail & Data Person: Strong experience managing ESG KPIs, performance reporting, and Science Based Targets; comfortable with data and able to translate it into clear, compelling narratives. The Values-Driven Professional: Passion for sustainability; experience with purpose-driven organisations and true ESG commitment.Nice to HavesExperience using the Greenly platformExperience with B Corp recertification under evolving standardsCompensation & Time Off25 days off per year, plus bank holidays and festive closure between Christmas and New Year (36 days + Christmas Day for some roles)Competitive salary reviewed twice a yearGenerous equity packageDiscretionary 10% quarterly bonus scheme, distributed quarterlyPension scheme: 5% from you as an employee and 3% from TrustedHousesitters£500 recruitment referral bonusBenefitsFor the love of pets: Premium TrustedHousesitters Combined membership (free airport lounge passes, Sit Cancellation Plan, Home and Contents Plan, plus five Premium memberships to gift to friends and family); remote working while taking as many house sits as you like; contribution up to £500 per year towards travel costs to/from sits; help with rescue pet adoption fees and “pawternity”.Health & wellbeing: SimplyHealth healthcare cash plan; Bupa Health Insurance and Dental Insurance plan; Specsavers eyecare scheme; weekly virtual yoga sessions; optional enrollment onto Trusted Giving scheme including employee giving via Charities Trust and 2 days paid annual volunteering allowance.Working environment: Fully remote working; compliance as a UK tax resident; £200 per year for home office equipment plus Macbook and Apple accessories when you start; access to Spaces co-working locations; all-expenses-paid meetup each quarter and team events throughout the year (remote or in-person); coverage of personal development resources and regular time for learning and growth; option to customise work hours to better align with your schedule.
