Assala Energy is looking for an Auditor to join their finance team in Port Gentil, Gabon. The Auditor will be responsible for overseeing the management of two team members and supporting auditing activities. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with legislation and contracts, especially concerning PSCs and JOAs. They will also assist in planning and executing the audit program, support with DGH and JV audits, and provide support for other ad hoc audits. The Auditor will need to have strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Audit Manager in planning and executing the approved audit programme
- Support with DGH and JV audits under the supervision of the Audit Manager
- Contribute towards work on Assala-directed audits under the supervision of the Audit Manager
- Provide support as and when required for other ad hoc audits such as tax audits, PID-PIH, FDCL, among others
- Ensure that audits requests are consistent with audit rights allowed by legislation or contract and challenge the ones which are unreasonable and non-contractual
- Maintain company audit calendar and ensure that deadlines are respected
- Ensure that the process of reply and close-out is planned and monitored, and that delays in the process can be explained
