About the Role
We're hiring a Team Coordinator / Multilingual Interpreter to support day-to-day operations for a growing language services company serving clients across the U.S. with a distributed, global team. This dual-function role blends hands-on coordination of interpreter assignments with active interpreting work of your own. You'll keep schedules, communication, and quality on track for a roster of interpreters, while also stepping in to interpret sessions in your own language pair(s). It's a great fit for someone who is both a strong organizer and a skilled linguist.
What You'll Do
Team Coordination
• Coordinate daily assignment scheduling, confirming interpreter availability well ahead of session start times.
• Serve as the point of contact for interpreters on your team — answering questions, resolving scheduling conflicts, and escalating issues as needed.
• Track and follow up on interpreter confirmations, cancellations, and no-shows, filling gaps quickly to avoid missed sessions.
• Monitor interpreter session quality using standardized quality-monitoring reports and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of interpreter availability, certifications, and assignment history.
• Support onboarding of new interpreters joining your team, including orientation on tools, protocols, and expectations.
• Participate in regular team check-ins to flag staffing gaps, share updates, and align on priorities.
Interpreting
• Provide accurate, professional interpretation (consecutive and/or simultaneous) in your language pair(s), following industry code of ethics and confidentiality standards.
• Interpret across settings that may include legal, medical, educational, or general business contexts, depending on assignment.
• Prepare for assignments by reviewing relevant terminology and context in advance when provided.
• Maintain professionalism, neutrality, and accuracy in every session, and document any issues encountered.
Who You Are
• Bachelor's degree required (any field).
• Proven experience as a professional interpreter, plus prior experience in scheduling, coordination, or team support.
• Fluent in English and at least one additional language, at a professional interpreting standard, across speaking, reading, and listening.
• Before applying, please test your English level using the free EF SET English Test and include your score/certificate with your application.
• Resume demonstrating proven, relevant experience, plus professional references who can confirm your work.
• Reliable home office setup: a computer, one to two additional monitors, a quiet working environment, and a stable, dependable internet connection.
• Trustworthy and self-directed — able to work independently and reliably with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively when needed.
• Energetic and engaged, bringing genuine knowledge and judgment to the business rather than just following instructions.
• Disciplined about applying SOPs and documented processes consistently, without cutting corners.
• Strong organizational skills and comfort managing a high volume of scheduling changes under time pressure.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication.
Nice to Have
• Court/legal or medical interpreter certification.
• Experience with interpreting/dispatch platforms or scheduling software.
• Proficiency in a third language.
• Experience supporting school district, judicial, or healthcare client accounts.
