Responsibilities

We’re building a small bench of senior full-stack freelancers we can pull in as client work lands. Early projects will usually be small web apps or features that take a few days to a few weeks, with the occasional longer engagement. What you’ll do * Build and ship full-stack web apps end-to-end: plan, implement, test, deploy, and support. * Work across the stack (frontend + backend + database) without needing hand-holding. * Turn rough requirements into a clean solution: break work into steps, call out tradeoffs, and keep things moving. * Write production-quality code: types, tests where it matters, sensible docs, and clean PRs. * Set up and maintain CI/CD (we mostly use GitHub Actions) and deploy to cloud platforms (often Vercel and GCP; Supabase is a plus). * Jump into unfamiliar parts of the stack when needed. You don’t have to know every tool on day one, but you should be the kind of person who can learn fast and still ship reliably. * Communicate clearly in English on calls and in writing. You won’t be client-facing, but you will be working closely with us. What we’re looking for * Senior-level full-stack experience, with at least 5 years of professional experience before AI coding became common (roughly: you were shipping production apps by 2018 or earlier). * Strong JavaScript/TypeScript experience, and solid React experience (Next.js is a big plus). * Backend experience with Node.js and/or Python (you should be comfortable designing APIs and working with databases). * Strong SQL + relational database skills (we mostly use PostgreSQL). You should be able to design schemas, write and tune queries, and handle migrations. * Real deployment experience: you’ve designed, built, and deployed apps you can talk through in detail. * Comfortable using AI tools (Cursor, Copilot, etc.) to move faster, but you must understand what you ship. You review every line, and you can build and debug without AI when needed. * Reliable and proactive: when something is unclear, you ask; when something breaks, you own it and fix it. Nice to have * Supabase, Firebase, or similar platforms * Experience with GCP services beyond basic hosting * PHP experience (rare, but it comes up sometimes)
