The Technical Writer authors and illustrates well written content that presents applications in a clear and concise manner, as easy-to-use. When preparing documentation and standardizing content, the Technical Writer will collaborate with management and support personnel.ResponsibilitiesLearn complex concepts and communicate the information in a way that is engaging and understood by the target audienceCollaborate and consult with team members to develop and execute contentProficient with all required Mission Critical Operation’s standards, policies, and processesDevelop a deep understanding of internal and external users and their learning needsUnderstanding of proper day-to-day operations and how systems act interdependently, and proficient in client processes, local site/campus procedures, and critical equipment operation/failure mitigation stepsCreate end user documentation such as SOPs, training manuals and how-to guides for the non-technical userMake manuals, guides, procedures, and other supporting documentation easy-to-use by presenting them in a clear and concise mannerAct as an editor to prepare review, revise, and maintain technical documents ensuring consistency in documentationAssist with the development of Data Center standards and policies when necessaryGather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing functionalityMaintain a library of application documentation, cataloging it for internal and/or external usePrepare and author various internal communication efforts as as requestedComplete other such duties assigned by T5FM managementEducation and ExperienceHigh school degree, requiredPrior military or technical school training, preferred1-3+ years’ experience in Mission Critical Environments, preferredElectrical or mechanical licensure, preferredKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, and CompetenciesStrong verbal and written communication skills required for working effectively with CFM, team members, vendors and customers on daily data center managementGood written technical proficiency to support the creation and revision of process documentation (MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs)Able to read and understand electrical and mechanical manuals, drawings, and sketchesStrong experience owning an end-to-end documentation creation processExperience creating infographics to communicate workflow processes and abstract topics clearlyExcellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced, changing environmentBackground knowledge of technical platforms and languagesExcellent writing and proofreading skillsEmbraces a team-based mentality by building positive morale and team spirit, supporting teammates efforts to succeed, and recognizing teammates accomplishmentsHas a “can-do” customer service attitude who is conscientious and takes personal pride in their workHas high degree of attention to detail and completes tasks on timeAble to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and volunteer readily when askedAble to handle changing needs and priorities accurately and professionallyPhysical Requirements
