OverviewWe are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to help build and scale the Azure platform that powers our engineering organization.This role will be responsible for creating the infrastructure foundations, deployment automation, and platform capabilities that enable multiple development teams to deploy and operate services efficiently. Today, several engineering teams are dependent on shared infrastructure resources to provision and deploy new applications. Your focus will be creating scalable, repeatable solutions that remove those bottlenecks and improve engineering velocity.This is a hands-on role requiring deep expertise in Azure, Terraform, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD automation.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain Azure infrastructure using TerraformBuild reusable Infrastructure-as-Code modules, standards, and deployment patternsDevelop platform capabilities that enable engineering teams to deploy and manage services independentlyManage and improve Terraform state management and deployment workflowsDesign and support Azure App Services and Azure FunctionsModernize and migrate existing CI/CD processes into Azure DevOps (ADO)Replace and simplify legacy deployment tooling and custom automation solutionsEstablish infrastructure governance, security, and operational best practicesPartner with engineering teams to streamline deployments and reduce operational overheadDocument platform architecture, deployment standards, and operational proceduresHelp evaluate future platform initiatives including containerization and Kubernetes adoptionRequired Qualifications5+ years of DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering experienceStrong hands-on Microsoft Azure experienceExpert-level Terraform experienceExperience building and managing Infrastructure-as-Code frameworksStrong Azure DevOps (ADO) experienceExperience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelinesExperience with Azure App ServicesExperience deploying and supporting Azure FunctionsStrong scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.)Experience supporting multiple engineering teams in a shared services environmentExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsPreferred QualificationsKubernetes (AKS) experienceDocker and containerization experiencePlatform Engineering experienceExperience building internal developer platforms or self-service deployment frameworksMonitoring and observability experienceExperience working within enterprise-scale Azure environmentsSuccess in This RoleWithin your first several months, you will:Establish scalable Terraform standards and deployment patternsModernize existing CI/CD tooling and migrate workflows into Azure DevOpsCreate repeatable deployment processes for Azure-based services and applicationsReduce infrastructure dependencies that currently slow engineering teamsBuild a platform foundation capable of supporting future growth and evolving cloud initiativesCore TechnologiesRequiredMicrosoft AzureTerraformAzure DevOps (ADO)Azure App ServicesAzure FunctionsCI/CD AutomationPreferredKubernetes (AKS)DockerPlatform Engineering ToolingMonitoring & Observability SolutionsAbout Tech9At Tech9, we are driven by a clear mission—to empower organizations with AI-centered solutions that make them more adaptable, efficient, and future-ready.
