About the RoleWe are seeking a capable and hands-on IT Manager Support professional to support day-to-day IT operations across systems, users, and infrastructure for an Australian business.Working closely with the IT Manager, you will help keep Microsoft environments, servers, networks, and end-user systems running smoothly, securely, and efficiently.This role suits someone who can troubleshoot quickly, communicate clearly, and take ownership of issues from resolution through to prevention.Key ResponsibilitiesMicrosoft Environment (Core Focus)Administer and support Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies through Azure AD / Entra IDSupport email setup, migrations, troubleshooting, and spam/security controlsSystems & Server SupportMonitor and maintain Windows Servers (on-premise and/or cloud)Assist with backups, patching, updates, and system performanceSupport virtual environments such as Hyper-V or VMwareNetwork ManagementMonitor and maintain LAN/WAN, routers, firewalls, and switchesTroubleshoot connectivity issues and outagesSupport VPN access and remote user connectivityHelpdesk & User SupportProvide Level 1–2 support across hardware, software, and access issuesResolve support tickets efficiently and escalate when requiredSupport onboarding/offboarding including device setup, email, and system accessSecurity & ComplianceSupport endpoint security, antivirus, and monitoring toolsMaintain access controls, MFA, and security policiesAssist with backups, recovery processes, and data protection practicesDocumentation & ReportingMaintain IT documentation, user guides, and support processesTrack recurring issues and resolutionsAssist in reporting system performance and risksRequirements3–5+ years experience in IT support / systems administrationStrong experience with Microsoft 365 and Exchange environmentsSolid understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory / Azure ADExperience with network troubleshooting (routers, firewalls, VPNs)Ability to diagnose and resolve issues independentlyStrong communication skills with both technical and non-technical usersSystems & ToolsMicrosoft 365 (Exchange, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)Azure AD / Entra IDWindows ServerHyper-V / VMware (preferred)Networking tools (VPN, routers, firewalls, switches)Backup and monitoring toolsWhat Success Looks LikeSystems and infrastructure run reliably and securelyUser support requests are resolved efficientlyNetwork and server issues are proactively managedSecurity controls and backups are maintained effectivelyDocumentation and support processes are kept up to datePreferredExperience with Azure or AWSExposure to cybersecurity tools and best practicesExperience with backup systems and disaster recoveryIT certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, or similar)
